Hello there,
I have downloaded windows sidebar, real one (pack)from your site but I couldn’t proceed the installation cause I doesn’t have the product keys.Couldn’t you help me with this problem?I really appreciate your kindness.Thank you…
February 12th, 2010 on 11:12 am
Hello MeL869,
The installation asks for a productkey, but you don’t have to fill in one, you can just skip that part, and you don’t have to fill in any key.
you can contineu the installation without a key.
Good luck!

Joshoon

hello, Gadget Extractor.exe doesn`t work .. i can`t instal any new gadgets … i receive the error “The aplication failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)Click on OK to terminate the aplication…. i used the option “repair” for the Gadget Extractor.exe and Alky for applications … i reinstalled both and stil nothing … can you help me? … thank you
February 16th, 2010 on 6:18 pm
I know the error.
It happens with much Windows XP machines.
It means you haven’t installed the last .NET Framework from Microsoft.
You can download it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6
Install it, and give it a try again!
February 26th, 2010 on 10:14 am
Joshoon, thank you so much for doing this! You rock!
February 26th, 2010 on 10:53 am

February 27th, 2010 on 3:46 pm
Hey , i only wonder where i can get that msn gadget.
I allready got windows 7 so don’t need the rest but is looks rly cool keep it up
February 27th, 2010 on 4:01 pm
Hmmm, I cant find it also on the Windows Live Gallery.
I thought it only came with Windows Vista.
And it standard comes with the sidebar, so I don’t have the gadget for you.
Or you should search for a download to get all the official Windows Vista gadgets.
February 27th, 2010 on 4:59 pm
ok
March 1st, 2010 on 6:45 pm

March 12th, 2010 on 5:14 pm
Great program, thanks, I had tried the Google Desktop but this is much better.
I have one issue with the Application Launcher gadgets, I have tried a few, but they all freeze the side bar.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
PS: I did use the gadget extractor.
March 13th, 2010 on 4:10 am
where is the download link?
March 13th, 2010 on 8:17 pm
If your Gadget Extractor doesn’t work, and you would like to add a few gadgets, follow these steps:
1. Rename .gadget suffix to .zip or .rar suffix (recommended in Total Commander).
2. Make a new folder in folder Shared Gadgets that is called ‘(name of gadget).Gadget’.
3. Copy files in archive to mentioned folder.
NOTE: It doesn’t require restart Sidebar or Windows.
March 15th, 2010 on 4:34 pm
Thanks Kucix, but the problem is not with the Extractor. The problem is the freezing of the Sidebar when I try to run any Applications Launchers.
March 18th, 2010 on 10:53 pm
when I install the sidebar there is a just few gadgets (there is no any extra gadgets that i checked in install menu). what is the problem?
March 18th, 2010 on 11:16 pm
Oh, you can check gadgets with the installation? :O
I never knew this, or just forgot it.
I know there are a few gadgets coming with it standard, that are also in Windows Vista so far I know.
March 18th, 2010 on 11:58 pm

Hi,
why wireless signal gadget don’t work ? (disconnected).
March 21st, 2010 on 6:43 pm
I think because that gadget is rlly made and scripted for Vista+.
Im almost sure of that.
March 21st, 2010 on 6:58 pm
… so there are no solutions ? For example other gadgets that i can download in other web site ?
TNX
March 26th, 2010 on 9:28 am
i dunno what the deal is, but everytime i download the file it says its corrupt when i unpack it, can you send me a mirror link or reupload please
March 27th, 2010 on 6:15 pm
Hi,
Thank you for your presentation here, I’m pleased with this soft on my pc. Just 1 thing I wonder, only “currency” doesn’t work somehow, not showing any currency amount ever. Can you give me any suggestion about that, please?
March 27th, 2010 on 6:19 pm
I really don’t know why that is, Im not the maker of the gadgets, thats Microsoft.
And I told it aldready a lot of times, it could be that some gadgets wont work because it is made for Windows Vista+, so maybe that the gadget is searching for any functions in Windows Vista, but they doesnt exist in windows XP.

Hey I just want to say thank you for the sidebar!! Great job in putting the package together.
I have a question that you may know or may not.
I installed all this for one particular gadget that I wanted to use. It is called “stock board”. The problem is that it can’t see the internet, and I dont know how to get it to retrieve information from yahoo stocks.
I know I am conected because I am writing this reply.
Any ideas on how to get it to work?
Other than that outstanding!!!
April 1st, 2010 on 5:27 am

hello. i have some problems.. i installed this xp vista sidebar a few months ago.. and it worked with no problems.. then.. today i reformatted my pc.. and got this http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/7615/xxxxxxq.jpg im pretty sure i lack somthing.. any help on this?..
April 22nd, 2010 on 5:02 pm
I cant help u with that.
The only thing I can do it to ask you if you have installed the latest version of .NET Framework, because that can cause graphical bugs, or errors with starting it.
April 22nd, 2010 on 5:27 pm
hmm. yeah. i have .net framework 4.. i installed a version 1-4 pack..
April 25th, 2010 on 11:11 pm
Hey there! I dropped by just to say “Thank you!”
This is an awesome way to adapt Sidebar to XP. I’m still in the process of making this completely operational.
From what I’ve read, users should grab the .net framework as well as install the latest IExplorer. Would there be any other required programs?
Thanks a bunch and i hope you have an awesome week!
April 26th, 2010 on 5:21 am
Yep, the Internet Explorer that Vista contains also.
But I think you’re fine with the newest Internet Explorer.
May 19th, 2010 on 10:30 pm
Thanks for install package.
I could not get Weatherbug to install.
It says it installs but does not show up in sidebar.
Other gadgets install correctly. Any ideas?

the picture is here:

June 15th, 2010 on 5:17 am
You can ignore that warning, it happens with some people, but it does not contain a virus.
I can tell that, I used this piece of software by myself too for a very long time, and never had problems.
June 23rd, 2010 on 11:49 am
Every time I use a app launch gadget (tried 3 different ones) the sidebar crash? and wont open. no I have no issue with any other gadgets expect app launchers plz help
June 23rd, 2010 on 1:19 pm
Please read the FAQ next time on the downloadpage.
Q: A gadget does not work correctly, it stays blank or an other error occures, can this be fixed?
A: This could be because the gadget is scripted to work on Windows Vista/7, and those scripts won’t work on XP.
This cannot be fixed.
But gadgets like clock, weather, calender, and stuff like that should work normaly.
But gadgets like CPU use may need a Windows Vista/7 system, because those scripts are written for Vista/7.
But most gadgets should work!
June 29th, 2010 on 7:06 pm
Thanks for the reply. I wish there was a way around this the app launcher is the only reason I like the sidebar for conveniences without it the sidebar is there just to look cool… on the other hand I don’t mind that one bit lol
June 29th, 2010 on 7:59 pm
No problem.
Actually most things work on the sidebar, but as you know, not everything will work, but mostly does, and thats the most important.
If you want everything work, you should take Vista/Win7 for yourself =P
July 18th, 2010 on 1:57 am
So I downloaded this on my girlfriends computer, which has windows xp. Everything installed correctly, but when we try to use the gadgets a lot of them don’t work. specifically the one she wants is http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&q=peso+penguin#/d1tea17
I downloaded it on my computer (which has windows Vista) and used it just fine, though all of the non-numerical text was in Japanese lol.
Even the gadgets that came with the sidebar pack only sometimes work. The graphics on them often show up as a blue-ish square. The penguin one has the outline of the penguin and the clock (no numbers) on a blue background. Could this be a problem with her graphics card or something?
July 25th, 2010 on 7:52 pm
When I try to open Gadget Extractor.exe it says
“Windows Sidebar not detected. Gadget Extractor cannot continue”
You know what’s wrong?
July 25th, 2010 on 11:29 pm
Are you sure you have followed all the steps in the readme without any mistake?
Because the Gadget Extractor will not work without the other stuff being installed before you are going to use the extractor.
August 1st, 2010 on 6:11 am
when i choose “any” gadget… including the clock,calendar… ETC…
This Message Comes Up:
Windows Sidebar has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
can you help me with this? thanks!
August 1st, 2010 on 11:05 am
Hmmm, very strange.
It might be because of .NET Framework, are you sure you have the newest .NET Framework?
Otherwise I don’t know how this problem could be resolved.
If it’s not .NET Framework, then are you sure you have installed every software in the same way as the readme said?

Joshoon

Did you installed all the applications in the right order as the readme says?
